Fadlullah: Receives Smaha and a delegation from the Islamic Charitable Projects Association
The Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah, received former minister Michel Smaha, whom he discussed with the situation in Lebanon and the region, especially what is going on in Palestine.
He also received a delegation from the Islamic Charitable Projects Association headed by Dr. Adnan Trabulsi. The discussion focused on the general status of Muslims and the need to protect Islamic unity in the face of the tension America is trying to create in many parts of the Muslim and Arab world, including Lebanon.
His Eminence emphasized that the stage we live in is one of political turmoil which the American Administration is trying to exploit to create an expanding state of chaos, and perhaps security and military instability.
He added: The Arabs do not have a clear view of how to solve the problem in Lebanon, since they are not ready to solve their own differences, and they do not intend to protect the Palestinians or at least to reduce the pressures that are exerted on them and stop the carnages committed against them. On the contrary, they want to liberate themselves from Palestine, and of values of pride attached to it. They do not even try to act so as to save face towards the critical consequences of what is happening in Palestine.
His Eminence pointed out that the responsibility lies on the shoulders of all the Arabs and Muslims to do whatever possible to expose the Israeli terrorist practices and to defend the causes of the nation. He further asserted that the nation needs two kinds of movement. The first is to conduct an internal thorough dialogue between all its trends and parties, and the second is to unify their ranks against the external enemy, especially in this stage in which the American Administration is trying to close the Palestinian dossier in a way that serves only the Israeli interests.
