Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
O He who shows mercy to him upon whom the servants show no mercy, O He who accepts him whom the lands do not accept, O He who does not scorn those in need of Him, O He who does not disappoint those who insistently plead to Him, O He who does not meet those who presume upon Him with rejection, O He who chooses the small gift which is offered to Him, and thanks for the little that is done for Him. O He who thanks for the little, and recompenses with the great, O He who comes near to him who comes near to Him, O He who invites to Himself him who turns away from Him, O He who does not change the favor, and does not hasten with vengeance, O He who makes the good deed fruitful until He increases it, and overlooks the evil deed until He wipes it out.
Ya man yarhamu man la yarhamuhu al-'ibad, wa ya man yaqbalu man la taqbaluhu al-bilad, wa ya man la yahtaqiru ahl al-hajah ilayh, wa ya man la yukhayyibu al-mulihhin 'alayh, wa ya man la yajbahu bi-ar-radd ahl ad-dallah 'alayh, wa ya man yajtabi saghira ma yuthafu bih, wa yashkuru yasira ma yu'malu lah. Wa ya man yashkuru 'ala al-qalil, wa yujazi bi-al-jalil, wa ya man yadnu ila man dana minh, wa ya man yad'u ila nafsihi man adbara 'anh, wa ya man la yughayyiru an-ni'mah, wa la yubadiru bi-an-naqimah, wa ya man yuthmiru al-hasanah hatta yunmiha, wa yatajawazu 'ani as-sayyi'ah hatta yu'affiha.
يَا مَنْ يَرْحَمُ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُهُ الْعِبَادُ، وَيَا مَنْ يَقْبَلُ مَنْ لَا تَقْبَلُهُ الْبِلَادُ، وَيَا مَنْ لَا يَحْتَقِرُ أَهْلَ الْحَاجَةِ إِلَيْهِ، وَيَا مَنْ لَا يُخَيِّبُ الْمُلِحِّينَ عَلَيْهِ، وَيَا مَنْ لَا يَجْبَهُ بِالرَّدِّ أَهْلَ الدَّالَّةِ عَلَيْهِ، وَيَا مَنْ يَجْتَبِي صَغِيرَ مَا يُتْحَفُ بِهِ، وَيَشْكُرُ يَسِيرَ مَا يُعْمَلُ لَهُ. وَيَا مَنْ يَشْكُرُ عَلَى الْقَلِيلِ، وَيُجَازي بِالْجَلِيلِ، وَيَا مَنْ يَدْنُو إِلَى مَنْ دَنَا مِنْهُ وَيَا مَنْ يَدْعُو إِلَى نَفْسِهِ مَنْ أَدْبَرَ عَنْهُ، وَيَا مَنْ لَا يُغَيِّرُ النِّعْمَةَ، وَلَا يُبَادِرُ بِالنَّقِمَةِ، وَيَا مَنْ يُثْمِرُ الْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّى يُنْمِيَهَا، وَيَتَجَاوَزُ عَنِ السَّيِّئَةِ حَتَّى يُعَفِّيَهَا.
Hopes have turned away short of the extent of Your generosity with [the fulfillment of] needs, and the vessels of requests have been filled by the overflowing of Your bounty, and descriptions have dissolved short of attaining the expression of Your quality. So Yours is the supreme exaltation above every high one, and the most glorious majesty above every majesty. Every great thing is small beside You, and every noble thing is contemptible beside Your nobility.
Insarafati al-amalu duna mada karamika bi-al-hajat wa imtala'at bi-faydi judik aw'iyatu at-talibat, wa tafassakhat duna bulughi na'tika as-sifat, fa-laka al-'uluwu al-a'la fawqa kulli 'al, wa al-jalalu al-amjad fawqa kulli jalal, kullu jaleelin 'indak saghir, wa kullu sharifin fi janbi sharafika haqir.
انْصَرَفَتِ الْآمَالُ دُونَ مَدَى كَرَمِكَ بِالْحَاجَاتِ وَامْتَلَأَتْ بِفَيْضِ جُودِكَ أَوْعِيَةُ الطَّلِبَاتِ، وَتَفَسَّخَتْ دُونَ بُلُوغِ نَعْتِكَ الصِّفَاتُ، فَلَكَ الْعُلُوُّ الْأَعْلَى فَوْقَ كُلِّ عَالٍ، وَالْجَلَالُ الْأَمْجَدُ فَوْقَ كُلِّ جَلَالٍ، كُلُّ جَلِيلٍ عِنْدَكَ صَغِيرٌ، وَكُلُّ شَرِيفٍ فِي جَنْبِ شَرَفِكَ حَقِيرٌ.
Disappointed are those who come to anyone other than You, and lost are those who expose themselves to anyone but You, and wasted are those who resort to anyone but You, and barren are those who seek pasture, except him who seeks Your favor as pasture. Your door is open to those who desire, and Your bounty is allowed to those who ask, and Your assistance is near to those who seek help. The hopers are not disappointed by You, and those who expose themselves to Your giving do not despair, and those who seek forgiveness are not wretched through Your vengeance. Your provision is spread out for him who disobeys You, and Your forbearance confronts him who opposes You. Your custom is beneficence toward the evil-doers, and Your wont is to keep the transgressors alive, until Your clemency almost deluded them from returning, and Your delay turned them away from repentance. But You only delayed them so they might return to Your command, and You gave them respite, trusting in the permanence of Your kingdom. So whoever was among the people of felicity, You sealed his end with it, and whoever was among the people of wretchedness, You abandoned him to it. All of them are proceeding to Your judgment, and their affairs are tending toward Your command. Your sovereignty was not weakened by their long duration, and Your proof was not refuted by Your leaving off their hastening [to punishment].
Khaba al-wafiduna 'ala ghayrik, wa khasira al-muta'arriduna illa lak, wa da'a al-mulimmuna illa bik, wa ajdaba al-muntaji'una illa mani intaja'a fadlak. Babuka maftuhun li-ar-raghibin, wa juduka mubahun li-as-sa'ilin, wa ighathatuka qaribatun min al-mustaghithin. La yakhibu minka al-amilun, wa la yay'asu min 'ata'ika al-muta'arridun, wa la yashqa bi-naqmatika al-mustaghfirun. Rizquka mabsutun li-man 'asak, wa hilmuka mu'taridun li-man nawak. 'Adatuka al-ihsanu ila al-musii'in, wa sunnatuka al-ibqa'u 'ala al-mu'tadin hatta laqad gharrathum anatuka 'ani ar-ruju', wa saddahum imhaluka 'ani an-nuzu'. Wa innama ta'annayta bihim li-yafii'u ila amrik, wa amhaltahum thiqatan bi-dawam mulkik, fa-man kana min ahli as-sa'adah khatamta lahu biha, wa man kana min ahli ash-shaqawah khadhaltahu laha. Kulluhum sa'iruna ila hukmik wa umuruhum a'ilatun ila amrik, lam yahin 'ala tul muddatihim sultanuk wa lam yadhhad li-tarki mu'ajalatihim burhanuk.
خَابَ الْوَافِدُونَ عَلَى غَيْرِكَ، وَخَسِرَ الْمُتَعَرِّضُونَ إِلَّا لَكَ، وَضَاعَ الْمُلِمُّونَ إِلَّا بِكَ، وَأَجْدَبَ الْمُنْتَجِعُونَ إِلَّا مَنِ انْتَجَعَ فَضْلَكَ. بَابُكَ مَفْتُوحٌ لِلرَّاغِبِينَ، وَجُودُكَ مُبَاحٌ لِلسَّائِلِينَ، وَإِغَاثَتُكَ قَرِيبَةٌ مِنَ الْمُسْتَغِيثِينَ، لَا يَخِيبُ مِنْكَ الْآمِلُونَ، وَلَا يَيْأَسُ مِنْ عَطَائِكَ الْمُتَعَرِّضُونَ، وَلَا يَشْقَى بِنَقْمَتِكَ الْمُسْتَغْفِرُونَ. رِزْقُكَ مَبْسُوطٌ لِمَنْ عَصَاكَ، وَحِلْمُكَ مُعْتَـرِضٌ لِمَنْ نَاوَاكَ، عَادَتُكَ الْإِحْسَـانُ إِلَى الْمُسِيئِينَ، وَسُنَّتُـكَ الْإِبْقَاءُ عَلَى الْمُعْتَدِينَ حَتَّى لَقَدْ غَرَّتْهُمْ أَنَاتُكَ عَنِ الرُّجُوعِ، وَصَدَّهُمْ إِمْهَالُكَ عَنِ النُّزُوعِ. وَإِنَّمَا تَأَنَّيْتَ بِهِمْ لِيَفِيئُوا إِلَى أَمْرِكَ، وَأَمْهَلْتَهُمْ ثِقَةً بِدَوَامِ مُلْكِكَ، فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ السَّعَادَةِ خَتَمْتَ لَهُ بِهَا، وَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّقَاوَةِ خَذَلْتَهُ لَهَا، كُلُّهُمْ صَائِرُونَ إِلَى حُكْمِكَ وَأُمُورُهُمْ آئِلَةٌ إِلَى أَمْـرِكَ، لَمْ يَهُنْ عَلَى طُـولِ مُـدَّتِهِمْ سُلْطَانُـكَ وَلَمْ يَـدْحَضْ لِتَـرْكِ مُعَاجَلَتِهِمْ بُرْهَانُكَ.
Your proof is standing, never refuted, and Your sovereignty is firm, never ceasing. So lasting woe belongs to him who swerved from You, and disappointing loss to him who was disappointed by You, and the most wretched wretchedness to him who was deluded by You. How much he will be turned about in Your punishment, and how long he will be moved back and forth in Your penalty, and how distant his limit is from relief, and how hopeless he is of an easy way out! As justice from Your decree, in which You do not act wrongfully, and as equity from Your judgment, against which You do not incline. For You have made the proofs manifest, and set forth the excuses, and You have preceded with the threat and dealt kindly in enticing, and cited the examples, and prolonged the respite, and delayed, though You are able to hasten, and acted with clemency, though You are able to commence. Your clemency was not helplessness, and Your delay was not weakness, and Your withholding was not heedlessness, and Your waiting was not flattering, but [it was] so that Your proof might be more eloquent, and Your generosity more perfect, and Your beneficence more abundant, and Your blessing more complete. All of that was and You have not ceased, and it is being and You will not cease. Your proof is too magnificent to be described in its totality, and Your glory is too sublime to be limited in its essence, and Your blessing is too abundant to be counted in its entirety, and Your beneficence is too much to be thanked for its least part. And silence has fallen short of praising You, and withholding has made me speechless from glorifying You, and my utmost is the acknowledgment of the inability — not from reluctance, O my God, but from incapacity. So here I am, seeking You by coming to You, and asking You for the excellence of reception. So bless Muhammad and his Household, and hear my secret supplication, and answer my prayer, and do not seal my day with my disappointment, and do not meet me with rejection in my request, and make my departure from You honorable, and my return to You. Surely You are not constrained by what You will, and not incapable of what You are asked, and You are powerful over everything, and there is no might and no power except with God, the Most High, the Most Great.
Hujjatuka qa'imatun la tudhad, wa sultanuka thabitun la yazul, fa-al-waylu ad-da'imu li-man janaha 'ank, wa al-khaybatu al-khadhilatu li-man khaba mink, wa ash-shaqa'u al-ashqa li-mani ightarra bik. Ma akthara tasarrufahu fi 'adhabik, wa ma atwala taraddudahu fi 'iqabik, wa ma ab'ada ghayatahu min al-faraj, wa ma aqnatahu min suhulati al-makhraj 'adlan min qadha'ika la tajuru fih, wa insafan min hukmik la tahifu 'alayh. Fa-qad zaharta al-hujaj, wa ablayta al-a'dhar, wa qad taqaddamta bi-al-wa'id wa talattafta fi at-targhib, wa darabta al-amthal, wa atalta al-imhal, wa akhkharta wa anta mustati'un li-al-mu'ajalah, wa ta'annayta wa anta mali'un bi-al-mubadarah. Lam takun anatuka 'ajza, wa la imhaluka wahna, wa la imsakuka ghaflah, wa la intizaruka mudara, bal li-takuna hujjatuka ablagh, wa karamuka akmal, wa ihsanuka awfa wa ni'matuka atamm. Kullu dhalika kana wa lam tazal, wa huwa ka'inun wa la tazal. Hujjatuka ajallu min an tusafa bi-kulliha, wa majdūka arfa'u min an yuhadda bi-kunhih, wa ni'matuka aktharu min an tuhsa bi-asriha, wa ihsanuka aktharu min an tushkara 'ala aqallih. Wa qad qassara biya as-sukutu 'an tahmidik, wa fahhahani al-imsaku 'an tamjidik, wa qusaraya al-iqraru bi-al-husur la raghbatan – ya Ilahi – bal 'ajzan, fa-ha ana dha a'ummuka bi-al-wifadah, wa as'aluka husna ar-rifadah, fa-salli 'ala Muhammad wa alih wa isma' najway, wa istajib du'ai wa la takhtim yawmiya bi-khaybati, wa la tajbahni bi-ar-raddi fi mas'alati, wa akrim min 'indik munsarfi wa ilayka munqalabi, innaka ghayru da'iqin bi-ma turid wa la 'ajizin 'amma tus'al, wa anta 'ala kulli shay'in qadir, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa bi-Allah al-'Aliyy al-'Adhim.
حُجَّتُكَ قَائِمَةٌ لَا تُدْحَضُ، وَسُلْطَانُكَ ثَابِتٌ لَا يَزُولُ، فَالْوَيْلُ الدَّائِمُ لِمَنْ جَنَحَ عَنْكَ، وَالْخَيْبَةُ الْخَاذِلَةُ لِمَنْ خَابَ مِنْكَ، وَالشَّقَاءُ الْأَشْقَى لِمَنِ اغْتَرَّ بِكَ. مَا أَكْثَرَ تَصَرُّفَهُ فِي عَذَابِكَ، وَمَا أَطْوَلَ تَرَدُّدَهُ فِي عِقَابِكَ، وَمَا أَبْعَدَ غَايَتَهُ مِنَ الْفَرَجِ، وَمَا أَقْنَطَهُ مِنْ سُهُولَةِ الْمَخْرَجِ عَدْلًا مِنْ قَضَائِكَ لَا تَجُورُ فِيهِ، وَإِنْصَافاً مِنْ حُكْمِكَ لَا تَحِيفُ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَدْ ظَاهَرْتَ الْحُجَجَ، وَأَبْلَيْتَ الْأَعْذَارَ، وَقَـدْ تَقَدَّمْتَ بِـالْوَعِيْدِ وَتَلَطَّفْتَ فِي التَّرْغِيبِ، وَضَرَبْتَ الْأَمْثَالَ، وَأَطَلْتَ الْإِمْهَالَ، وَأَخَّرْتَ وَأَنْتَ مُسْتَطِيعٌ لِلْمُعَاجَلَةِ، وَتَأَنَّيْتَ وَأَنْتَ مَلِيءٌ بِالْمُبَادَرَةِ، لَمْ تَكُنْ أَنَاتُكَ عَجْزاً، وَلَا إِمْهَالُكَ وَهْناً، وَلَا إِمْسَاكُكَ غَفْلَةً، وَلَا انْتِظَارُكَ مُدَارَاةً، بَلْ لِتَكُونَ حُجَّتُكَ أَبْلَغَ، وَكَرَمُكَ أَكْمَلَ، وَإِحْسَانُكَ أَوْفَى وَنِعْمَتُكَ أَتَمَّ، كُلُّ ذَلِكَ كَانَ وَلَمْ تَزَلْ، وَهُوَ كَائِنٌ وَلَا تَزَالُ، حُجَّتُكَ أَجَلُّ مِنْ أَنْ تُوصَفَ بِكُلِّهَا، وَمَجْدُكَ أَرْفَعُ مِنْ أَنْ يُحَدَّ بِكُنْهِهِ، وَنِعْمَتُكَ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ أَنْ تُحْصَى بِأَسْرِهَا، وَإِحْسَانُكَ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ أَنْ تُشْكَرَ عَلَى أَقَلِّهِ، وَقَدْ قَصَّرَ بِيَ السُّكُوتُ عَنْ تَحْمِيدِكَ، وَفَهَّهَنِي الْإِمْسَاكُ عَنْ تَمْجِيدِكَ، وَقُصَارَايَ الْإِقْرَارُ بِالْحُسُورِ لَا رَغْبَةً ـ يَا إِلَهِي ـ بَلْ عَجْزاً، فَهَا أَنَا ذَا أَؤُمُّكَ بِالْوِفَادَةِ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ حُسْنَ الرِّفَادَةِ، فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ وَاسْمَعْ نَجْوَايَ، وَاسْتَجِبْ دُعَائِي وَلَا تَخْتِمْ يَوْمِيَ بِخَيْبَتِي، وَلَا تَجْبَهْنِي بِالرَّدِّ فِي مَسْأَلَتِي، وَأَكْرِمْ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ مُنْصَرَفِي وَإِلَيْكَ مُنْقَلَبِي، إِنَّكَ غَيْرُ ضَائِقٍ بِمَا تُرِيدُ وَلَا عَاجِزٍ عَمَّا تُسْأَلُ، وَأَنْتَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ.
