Today, on this painful day—the fourth of July—we remember with heartfelt devotion the fifteenth commemoration of our bond with the late Sayyed (ra). He left a great positive impact on our lives, as he was the father, the guide, the mentor, the teacher, and the reference we always turned back to for strength and guidance.
In every position he took, in every step he made, he always moved from his deep awareness of Islam—a faith he insisted on taking from its pure, original sources.
Through that, he saw Islam as a call to the humanity of the human being. That’s why he used to say:
"To be a Muslim is to be a human who lives his humanity in the humanity of others."
This was the spirit that shaped his views, his Fatwas, his thoughts, and everything he stood for.
