O Allah, O You who desires no repayment! O You who shows no regret at giving! O You who does not punish His servant for his evil deeds! Your favor is a beginning, Your pardon is a gift, Your punishment is justice, and Your decree is a choice for good. If You give, You do not stain Your gift with obligation. If You withhold, Your withholding is not an act of tyranny. You thank whoever thanks You, though You inspired him to thank You. You reward whoever praises You, though You taught him Your praise.
Allahumma ya man la yarghabu fil jazai, wa ya man la yandamu alal atai, wa ya man la yukafiu abdahu alas sawai. Minnatuk ibtidaun, wa afwuka tafaddulun, wa uqubatuka adlun, wa qadauka khairatun. In ataita lam tashub ataaka bimanin, wa in manata lam yakun manuka tadiyyan. Tashkuru man shakarak wa anta alhamtahu shukrak, wa tukafiu man hamidaka wa anta allamtahu hamdak.
اللَّهُمَّ يَا مَنْ لَا يَرْغَبُ فِي الْجَزَاءِ، ويَا مَنْ لَا يَنْدَمُ عَلَى الْعَطَاءِ، ويَا مَنْ لَا يُكَافِئُ عَبْدَهُ عَلَى السَّوَاءِ. مِنَّتُكَ ابْتِدَاءٌ، وعَفْوُكَ تَفَضُّلٌ، وعُقُوبَتُكَ عَدْلٌ، وقَضَاؤُكَ خِيَرَةٌ. إِنْ أَعْطَيْتَ لَمْ تَشُبْ عَطَاءَكَ بِمَنٍّ، وإِنْ مَنَعْتَ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَنْعُكَ تَعَدِّياً. تَشْكُرُ مَنْ شَكَرَكَ وأَنْتَ أَلْهَمْتَهُ شُكْرَكَ، وتُكَافِئُ مَنْ حَمِدَكَ وأَنْتَ عَلَّمْتَهُ حَمْدَكَ.
You cover whoever, if You wished, You would have exposed. You are generous to whoever, if You wished, You would have deprived. Both are deserving from You of exposure and deprivation. Yet You have founded Your actions upon free giving. You have channeled Your power into forbearance. You receive whoever disobeys You with clemency. You give respite to whoever intends wrongdoing against himself. You wait for him to turn to Your repentance through Your patience. You leave haste in punishing him to allow for his repentance.
Tasturu ala man law shita fadhahtahu, wa tajudu ala man law shita manatahu, wa kilahuma ahlun minka lil fadhiati wal mani. Ghayra annaka banayta afalaka alat tafadduli, wa ajrayta qudrataka alat tajawuzi, wa talaqqayta man asaka bil hilm. Wa amhalt man qasada li nafsihi bidh dhulmi, tastanthiruhum bi anatik ilal inabati. Wa tatruku muajalatahum ilat tawbati,
تَسْتُرُ عَلَى مَنْ لَو شِئْتَ فَضَحْتَهُ، وتَجُودُ عَلَى مَنْ لَو شِئْتَ مَنَعْتَهُ، وكِلَاهُمَا أَهْلٌ مِنْكَ لِلْفَضِيحَةِ والْمَنْعِ، غَيْرَ أَنَّكَ بَنَيْتَ أَفْعَالَكَ عَلَى التَّفَضُّلِ، وأَجْرَيْتَ قُدْرَتَكَ عَلَى التَّجَاوُزِ، وتَلَقَّيْتَ مَنْ عَصَاكَ بِالْحِلْمِ، وأَمْهَلْتَ مَنْ قَصَدَ لِنَفْسِهِ بِالظُّلْمِ، تَسْتَنْظِرُهُمْ بِأَنَاتِكَ إِلَى الْإِنَابَةِ، وتَتْرُكُ مُعَاجَلَتَهُمْ إِلَى التَّوْبَةِ،
This is so that none who are destroyed may perish through You. And so that none who are wretched may be wretched despite Your favor. Except after prolonged excuses to him and successive arguments against him. This is through the graciousness of Your pardon, O Generous, and the custom of Your kindness, O Clement!
li kaila yahlika alayka halikuhum. Wa la yashqa bi nimatika shaqiyyuhum, illa an tuli lil idhari ilayhi. Wa bad taradufil hujjati alayhi, karam min afwika ya karimu, wa aidat min atfika ya halim.
لِكَيْلَا يَهْلِكَ عَلَيْكَ هَالِكُهُمْ، ولَا يَشْقَى بِنِعْمَتِكَ شَقِيُّهُمْ، إِلَّا عَنْ طُولِ الْإِعْذَارِ إِلَيْهِ، وبَعْدَ تَرَادُفِ الْحُجَّةِ عَلَيْهِ، كَرَماً مِنْ عَفْوِكَ يَا كَرِيمُ، وعَائِدَةً مِنْ عَطْفِكَ يَا حَلِيمُ.
You are the One who opened for Your servants a door to Your pardon. You named it 'Repentance'. You placed upon that door a guide from Your revelation, so they would not stray from it.
Anta alladhi fatahta li ibadika baban ila afwika wa sammaytahut tawbata. Wa jaalta ala dhalikal babi dalilan min wahyika li alla yadillu anhu.
أَنْتَ الَّذِي فَتَحْتَ لِعِبَادِكَ بَاباً إِلَى عَفْوِكَ وسَمَّيْتَهُ التَّوْبَةَ، وجَعَلْتَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ الْبَابِ دَلِيلًا مِنْ وَحْيِكَ لِئَلَّا يَضِلُّوا عَنْهُ،
You said, "O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance. Perhaps your Lord will remove from you your misdeeds and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow..." (Surah At-Tahrim 66:8)
So what excuse remains for one who neglects to enter that house after the opening of the door and the setting up of the guide? You are the One who increased the offer from Yourself for Your servants. You desire their profit in their trade with You. You want their success in visiting You and gaining increase from You.
Faqulta "Yā ayyuhā alladhīna āmanū tūbū ilā Allāhi tawbatan nasūḥan ʿasā rabbukum an yukaffira ʿankum sayyiātikum wa yudkhilakum jannātin tajrī min taḥtihā al-anhāru..."
Fa ma udhru man aghfala dukhula dhalika almanzili bad fathil babi wa iqamatid dalil. Wa anta alladhi zidta fis sawmi ala nafsika li ibadika. Turidu ribahahum fi mutajaratihim laka. Wa turidu fawzahum bil wifadati alayka wal ziyadati minka.
فَقُلْتَ: {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا تُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ تَوْبَةً نَصُوحاً عَسَى رَبُّكُمْ أَنْ يُكَفِّرَ عَنْكُمْ سَيِّئَاتِكُمْ وَيُدْخِلَكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ} (٦٦:٨)
فَمَا عُذْرُ مَنْ أَغْفَلَ دُخُولَ ذَلِكَ الْمَنْزِلِ بَعْدَ فَتْحِ الْبَابِ وإِقَامَةِ الدَّلِيلِ، وأَنْتَ الَّذِي زِدْتَ فِي السَّوْمِ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ لِعِبَادِكَ، تُرِيدُ رِبْحَهُمْ فِي مُتَاجَرَتِهِمْ لَكَ، وفَوْزَهُمْ بِالْوِفَادَةِ عَلَيْكَ، والزِّيَادَةِ مِنْكَ،
So You said, "Whoever comes with a good deed will have ten times the like thereof..." (Surah Al-An'am 6:160)
Faqulta "Man jāa bi-ḥasanatin falahu ʿashru amthālihā..."
فَقُلْتَ: {مَنْ جَاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا} (٦:١٦٠)
And You said, "Whoever comes with an evil deed will not be recompensed except the like thereof..." (Surah Al-An'am 6:160)
And You said, "The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains..." (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:261)
And You said, "Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over?..." (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:245)
And You sent down similar verses in the Quran about the multiplication of good deeds.
Wa qulta "Wa man jāa bi-sayyiatin falā yujzā illā mithlahā..."
Wa qulta "Mathalu alladhīna yunfiqūna amwālahum fī sabīli Allāhi kamathali ḥabbatin ambatat sabʿa sanābila fī kulli sunbulatin miatu ḥabbatin..."
Wa qulta "Man dhā alladhī yuqriḍu Allāha qarḍan ḥasanan fayuḍāʿifahu lahu aʿḍāfan kathīratan..."
Wa ma anzalta min nadhairihin fil qurani min tadhaafifil hasanat.
وَقُلْتَ: {وَمَنْ جَاءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلَا يُجْزَى إِلَّا مِثْلَهَا} (٦:١٦٠)
وَقُلْتَ: {مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ أَنبَتَتْ سَبْعَ سَنَابِلَ فِي كُلِّ سُنبُلَةٍ مِّائَةُ حَبَّةٍ} (٢:٢٦١)
وَقُلْتَ: {مَّن ذَا الَّذِي يُقْرِضُ اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا فَيُضَاعِفَهُ لَهُ أَضْعَافًا كَثِيرَةً} (٢:٢٤٥)
وَمَا أَنْزَلْتَ مِنْ نَظَائِرِهِنَّ فِي الْقُرْآنِ مِنْ تَضَاعِيفِ الْحَسَنَاتِ.
You are the One who guided them with Your words from the unseen. You encouraged them with what holds their share of reward. You showed them what, if You had concealed it, their eyes would not have perceived. Their ears would not have heard it, and their minds would not have grasped it.
So You said, "Remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not be ungrateful to Me." (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:152)
And You said, "If you are grateful, I will surely increase you; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe." (Surah Ibrahim 14:7)
And You said, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you. Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell in humiliation." (Surah Ghafir 40:60)
Wa anta alladhi dalaltahum bi qawlika min ghaibika wa targhibika alladhi fihi haththuhum. Alama law satartahu anhum lam tudrikhu absaruhum. Wa lam taehi asma uhum wa lam talhaqhu awhamuhum.
Faqulta "Udhrunī adhkurkum washkurū lī walā takfurūn" (2:152).
Wa qulta "La-in shakartum la-azīdannakum wa la-in kafartum inna ʿadhābī lashadīd" (14:7).
Wa qulta "Udʿūnī astajib lakum inna alladhīna yastakbirūna ʿan ʿibādatī sa-yadkhulūna jahannama dākhirīn" (40:60).
وَأَنْتَ الَّذِي دَلَلْتَهُمْ بِقَوْلِكَ مِنْ غَيْبِكَ وتَرْغِيبِكَ الَّذِي فِيهِ حَظُّهُمْ عَلَى مَا لَوْ سَتَرْتَهُ عَنْهُمْ لَمْ تُدْرِكْهُ أَبْصَارُهُمْ، ولَمْ تَعِهِ أَسْمَاعُهُمْ، ولَمْ تَلْحَقْهُ أَوْهَامُهُمْ،
فَقُلْتَ: {اذْكُرُونِي أَذْكُرْكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوا لِي وَلَا تَكْفُرُونِ} (٢:١٥٢)
وَقُلْتَ: {لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ وَلَئِن كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٌ} (١٤:٧)
وَقُلْتَ: {ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ} (٤٠:٦٠)
So You named calling upon You 'worship'. And You named abandoning it 'arrogance'. And You threatened for abandoning it entry into Hell in humiliation. So they remember You by Your favor. They thank You by Your grace. They call upon You by Your command. They give charity for You, seeking Your increase. In this lies their salvation from Your wrath and their success in attaining Your pleasure. If a creature were to guide another creature to the like of that which You have guided Your servants to from You, he would be described with beneficence. He would be praised by every tongue. So to You is all praise! There remains no path for praise to fully encompass You. There remains no word to praise You with, and no meaning to which praise can turn!
Fa sammayta duaaka ibadatan. Wa sammayta tarkahu istikbaran. Wa waaadt ala tarkihi dukhula jahannama dakhirin. Fa dhakaruka bi mannika. Wa shakaruka bi fadlika. Wa dhawka bi amrika. Wa tasaddaq u laka talaban li mazidika. Wa fiha kanat najatuhum min ghadabika wa fawzuhum bi ridaka. Wa law dalla makhlugun makhlug an ala mithli alladhi dalalta alayhi ibadaka minka. La kana mawsufan bil ihsani. Wa la mahmud an bikulli lisan. Fa lakal hamdu ma wujida fi hamdika madhhab. Wa ma baqiya lil hamdi lafz un tuhmadu bihi, wa man an yansarifu ilayh!
فَسَمَّيْتَ دُعَاءَكَ عِبَادَةً، وتَرْكَهُ اسْتِكْبَاراً، وتَوَعَّدْتَ عَلَى تَرْكِهِ دُخُولَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ، فَذَكَرُوكَ بِمَنِّكَ، وشَكَرُوكَ بِفَضْلِكَ، ودَعَوْكَ بِأَمْرِكَ، وتَصَدَّقُوا لَكَ طَلَباً لِمَزِيدِكَ، وفِيهَا كَانَتْ نَجَاتُهُمْ مِنْ غَضَبِكَ، وفَوْزُهُمْ بِرِضَاكَ. ولَو دَلَّ مَخْلُوقٌ مَخْلُوقاً مِنْ نَفْسِهِ عَلَى مِثْلِ الَّذِي دَلَلْتَ عَلَيْهِ عِبَادَكَ مِنْكَ كَانَ مَوْصُوفاً بِالْإِحْسَانِ، ومَنْعُوتاً بِالِامْتِنَانِ، ومَحْمُوداً بِكُلِّ لِسَانٍ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ مَا وُجِدَ فِي حَمْدِكَ مَذْهَبٌ، ومَا بَقِيَ لِلْحَمْدِ لَفْظٌ تُحْمَدُ بِهِ، ومَعْنًى يَنْصَرِفُ إِلَيْهِ.
O You who shows His praiseworthiness to His servants through beneficence and grace! O You who overwhelms them with favor and bounty! How You have spread Your blessings among us! How perfect You have made Your favor upon us! How privileged we are with Your kindness! You have guided us to Your religion which You have chosen. You have guided us to the creed with which You are pleased. You have guided us to the path which You have made easy. You have given us insight into drawing near to You and arriving at Your honor.
Ya man tahammada ila ibadihi bil ihsani wal fadli! Wa ya man ghamarahum bil manni wat tawli! Ma afsha fina nimatak! Wa asbagha alayna minnatak! Wa akhassana bi birrik! Hadaytana li dinika alladhi istafayta. Wa hadaytana li millatika allati artadayta. Wa hadaytana li sabiilika alladhi sahhalt. Wa bassartanaz zulfata ladayka wal wusula ila karamatik.
يَا مَنْ تَحَمَّدَ إِلَى عِبَادِهِ بِالْإِحْسَانِ والْفَضْلِ، وغَمَرَهُمْ بِالْمَنِّ والطَّوْلِ، مَا أَفْشَى فِينَا نِعْمَتَكَ، وأَسْبَغَ عَلَيْنَا مِنَّتَكَ، وأَخَصَّنَا بِبِرِّكَ، هَدَيْتَنَا لِدِينِكَ الَّذِي اصْطَفَيْتَ، ومِلَّتِكَ الَّتِي ارْتَضَيْتَ، وسَبِيلِكَ الَّذِي سَهَّلْتَ، وبَصَّرْتَنَا الزُّلْفَةَ لَدَيْكَ، والْوُصُولَ إِلَى كَرَامَتِكَ.
O Allah, You have made from the choicest of duties and the most special obligations the month of Ramadan. You have distinguished it from all other months. You have chosen it from all eras and times. You have preferred it over all seasons of the year. This is because of the Quran and the light which You sent down in it. This is because of the faith You multiplied in it. This is because of the fasting You ordained in it. This is because of the night prayer You encouraged in it. This is because of the Night of Decree which You made better than a thousand months. Then You privileged us with it over all other nations. You chose us by its virtue over the people of other religions. So we fasted its daytime by Your command. We stood its nights in prayer by Your help. We presented ourselves through its fasting and prayer to the mercy You have prepared. We made our way thereby to the reward You have promised. You are the One sufficient for what is sought from You. You are the Generous with what is asked of Your bounty. You are the Near to one who attempts nearness to You.
Allahumma wa anta jaalta min safaya tilkal wazaifi, wa khasaisi tilkal furudi, shahra ramadana. Alladhi ikhtasastahu min sairish shuhuri. Wa khayyartahu min jamial azminati wad duhuri. Wa athartahu ala kulli awqatis sanati. Bima anzalta fihi minal qurani wan nuri. Wa bima dhaafata fihi minal imani. Wa bima faradta fihi minas siyami. Wa bima raghghabta fihi minal qiyami. Wa bima ajjalta fihi min laylatil qadri allati hi khayrun min alfi shahr. Thumma athartana bihi ala sairil umami. Wastafaytana bi fadlihi duna ahlil milal. Fa sumna bi amrika naharahu. Wa qumna bi awnika laylahu. Mutaarridina bi siyamihi wa qiyamihi lima arradtana lahu min rahmatika. Wa tasabbabna ilayhi min mathubatika. Wa antal maliu bima rughiba fihi ilayka. Al jawadu bima suilta min fadlika. Al qaribu ila man hawala qurbak.
اللَّهُمَّ وأَنْتَ جَعَلْتَ مِنْ صَفَايَا تِلْكَ الْوَظَائِفِ، وخَصَائِصِ تِلْكَ الْفُرُوضِ، شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِي اخْتَصَصْتَهُ مِنْ سَائِرِ الشُّهُورِ، وتَخَيَّرْتَهُ مِنْ جَمِيعِ الْأَزْمِنَةِ والدُّهُورِ، وآثَرْتَهُ عَلَى كُلِّ أَوْقَاتِ السَّنَةِ، بِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ فِيهِ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ والنُّورِ، وضَاعَفْتَ فِيهِ مِنَ الْإِيمَانِ، وفَرَضْتَ فِيهِ مِنَ الصِّيَامِ، ورَغَّبْتَ فِيهِ مِنَ الْقِيَامِ، وأَجْلَلْتَ فِيهِ مِنْ لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ الَّتِي هِيَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ، ثُمَّ آثَرْتَنَا بِهِ عَلَى سَائِرِ الْأُمَمِ، واصْطَفَيْتَنَا بِفَضْلِهِ دُونَ أَهْلِ الْمِلَلِ، فَصُمْنَا بِأَمْرِكَ نَهَارَهُ، وقُمْنَا بِعَوْنِكَ لَيْلَهُ، مُتَعَرِّضِينَ بِصِيَامِهِ وقِيَامِهِ لِمَا عَرَّضْتَنَا لَهُ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ، وتَسَبَّبْنَا إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَثُوبَتِكَ، وأَنْتَ الْمَلِيءُ بِمَا رُغِبَ فِيهِ إِلَيْكَ، الْجَوَادُ بِمَا سُئِلْتَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ، الْقَرِيبُ إِلَى مَنْ حَاوَلَ قُرْبَكَ.
This month stood among us as a praised leader. It accompanied us as an approved companion. It profited us as a treasure that yields the best profit of all worlds. Then it departed from us at the completion of its time. It left at the cessation of its term and the fulfillment of its number. So we bid it farewell with the farewell of one whose separation is grievous to us. Its departure has saddened, grieved, and made us lonely. We are bound by its preserved responsibility. We are bound by its respected sanctity and its fulfilled right.
Wa qad aqama fina hadhash shahru maqama hamdin. Wa sahibana suhbata mabruurin. Wa arbahana afdala arbahil alamin. Thumma qad faraqana inda tamami waqtihi. Wanqitai muddatihi, wa wafai adadihi. Fa nahnu muwaddiuhu widaa man azza firaquhu alayna. Wa ghammana wa aw hashana insirafuhu anna. Wa lazimana lahu adh dhimamal mahfuz. Wal hurmatal mariyyah, wal haqqul maqdy.
وَقَدْ أَقَامَ فِينَا هَذَا الشَّهْرُ مُقَامَ حَمْدٍ، وصَحِبَنَا صُحْبَةَ مَبْرُورٍ، وأَرْبَحَنَا أَفْضَلَ أَرْبَاحِ الْعَالَمِينَ، ثُمَّ قَدْ فَارَقَنَا عِنْدَ تَمَامِ وَقْتِهِ، وانْقِطَاعِ مُدَّتِهِ، ووَفَاءِ عَدَدِهِ. فَنَحْنُ مُوَدِّعُوهُ وِدَاعَ مَنْ عَزَّ فِرَاقُهُ عَلَيْنَا، وغَمَّنَا وأَوْحَشَنَا انْصِرافُهُ عَنَّا، ولَزِمَنَا لَهُ الذِّمَامُ الْمَحْفُوظُ، والْحُرْمَةُ الْمَرْعِيَّةُ، والْحَقُّ الْمَقْضِيُّ،
So we say:
Peace be upon you, O greatest month of Allah! O festival of His allies!
Peace be upon you, O most noble of times to be accompanied! O best of months in days and hours!
Peace be upon you, O month in which hopes are drawn near and deeds are raised up!
Peace be upon you, O companion whose worth is immense when present. Whose loss is most painful when absent. And whose separation is agonizing!
Peace be upon you, O familiar one who brought joy as he approached. And caused loneliness as he departed!
Peace be upon you, O neighbor in whom hearts soften and sins lessen!
Peace be upon you, O helper who aided against Satan. O companion who eased the paths of goodness!
Peace be upon you! How numerous are those freed by Allah in you! How fortunate is he who observed your sanctity through you!
Peace be upon you! How great is your erasing of sins! How well you cover all kinds of faults!
Peace be upon you! How long you seemed to the sinners! How awe-inspiring you were in the hearts of the believers!
Peace be upon you, O month with whom days cannot compete!
Peace be upon you, O month who is peace in every matter!
Peace be upon you, not disliked in companionship nor blamed in association!
Peace be upon you, as you came to us with blessings. And washed away from us the filth of sins!
Peace be upon you, not bid farewell with aversion. Nor is your fasting abandoned with weariness!
Peace be upon you, O one sought before his time. O one grieved for before his passing!
Fa nahnu qailuna: Assalamu alayka ya shahrallahi al-akbar! Wa ya eeda awliya ih!
Assalamu alayka ya akrama mashubin minal awqat! Wa ya khayra shahrin fil ayyami wassaiat!
Assalamu alayka min shahrin qurbat fihil amal! Wa nushirat fihil aamal!
Assalamu alayka min qarinin jalla qadruhu maujudan! Wa afjaa fiqduhu mafqudan! Wa marjuin alama firaquhu!
Assalamu alayka min alifin anasa muqibilan fa sarr! Wa aw hasha munqadiyan fa madd!
Assalamu alayka min mujawirin raqqat fihil qulub! Wa qallat fihidh dhunub!
Assalamu alayka min nasirin aana alash shaytan! Wa sahibin sahhala subulal ihsan!
Assalamu alayka ma akthara utaqa allahi fika! Ma asada man raaa hurmataka bika!
Assalamu alayka ma kana amhaka lidh dhunub! Wa astaka li anwail uyub!
Assalamu alayka ma kana atwalaka alal mujrimin! Wa ahyabaka fi suduril muminin!
Assalamu alayka min shahrin la tunafisuhul ayyam!
Assalamu alayka min shahrin huwa min kulli amrin salam!
Assalamu alayka ghayra karihil musahabati! Wa la dhamimil mulabasati!
Assalamu alayka kama wafadta alayna bil barakat! Wa ghasalta anna danasal khati at!
Assalamu alayka ghayra muwaddain baraman! Wa la matrukin siyamuhu saaman!
Assalamu alayka min matlubin qabla waqtihi! Wa mahzunin alayhi qabla fawtihi!
فَنَحْنُ قَائِلُونَ: السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا شَهْرَ اللَّهِ الْأَكْبَرَ، ويَا عِيدَ أَوْلِيَائِهِ.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَكْرَمَ مَصْحُوبٍ مِنَ الْأَوْقَاتِ، ويَا خَيْرَ شَهْرٍ فِي الْأَيَّامِ والسَّاعَاتِ.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ شَهْرٍ قَرُبَتْ فِيهِ الْآمَالُ، ونُشِرَتْ فِيهِ الْأَعْمَالُ.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ قَرِينٍ جَلَّ قَدْرُهُ مَوْجُوداً، وأَفْجَعَ فَقْدُهُ مَفْقُوداً، ومَرْجُوّ آلَمَ فِرَاقُهُ.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَلِيفٍ آنَسَ مُقْبِلًا فَسَرَّ، وأَوْحَشَ مُنْقَضِياً فَمَضَّ.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ مُجَاوِرٍ رَقَّتْ فِيهِ الْقُلُوبُ، وقَلَّتْ فِيهِ الذُّنُوبُ.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ نَاصِرٍ أَعَانَ عَلَى الشَّيْطَانِ، وصَاحِبٍ سَهَّلَ سُبُلَ الْإِحْسَانِ.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ مَا أَكْثَرَ عُتَقَاءَ اللَّهِ فِيكَ، ومَا أَسْعَدَ مَنْ رَعَى حُرْمَتَكَ بِكَ!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ مَا كَانَ أَمْحَاكَ لِلذُّنُوبِ، وأَسْتَرَكَ لِأَنْوَاعِ الْعُيُوبِ!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ مَا كَانَ أَطْوَلَكَ عَلَى الْمُجْرِمِينَ، وأَهْيَبَكَ فِي صُدُورِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ شَهْرٍ لَا تُنَافِسُهُ الْأَيَّامُ.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ شَهْرٍ هُو مِنْ كُلِّ أَمْرٍ سَلَامٌ.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ غَيْرَ كَرِيهِ الْمُصَاحَبَةِ، ولَا ذَمِيمِ الْمُلَابَسَةِ.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ كَمَا وَفَدْتَ عَلَيْنَا بِالْبَرَكَاتِ، وغَسَلْتَ عَنَّا دَنَسَ الْخَطِيئَاتِ.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ غَيْرَ مُوَدَّعٍ بَرَماً، ولَا مَتْرُوكٍ صِيَامُهُ سَأَماً.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ مَطْلُوبٍ قَبْلَ وَقْتِهِ، ومَحْزُونٍ عَلَيْهِ قَبْلَ فَوْتِهِ.
Peace be upon you! How much evil was averted from us through you! How much good was poured upon us through you!
Peace be upon you and upon the Night of Decree, which is better than a thousand months!
Peace be upon you! How eager we were for you yesterday! How intense is our longing for you tomorrow!
Peace be upon you and upon Your bounty which we have been deprived of! And upon the past of Your blessings which we have been robbed of!
Assalamu alayka kam min suin surifa bika anna! Wa kam min khairin ufida bika alayna!
Assalamu alayka wa ala laylatil qadri allati hi khayrun min alfi shahr!
Assalamu alayka ma kana ahrasana bil amsi alayka! Wa ashadda shawqana ghadan ilayka!
Assalamu alayka wa ala fadlika alladhi hurimnahu! Wa ala madin min barakatika sulibnahu!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ كَمْ مِنْ سُوءٍ صُرِفَ بِكَ عَنَّا، وكَمْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ أُفِيضَ بِكَ عَلَيْنَا.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وعَلَى لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ الَّتِي هِيَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ مَا كَانَ أَحْرَصَنَا بِالْأَمْسِ عَلَيْكَ، وأَشَدَّ شَوْقَنَا غَداً إِلَيْكَ!
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وعَلَى فَضْلِكَ الَّذِي حُرِمْنَاهُ، وعَلَى مَاضٍ مِنْ بَرَكَاتِكَ سُلِبْنَاهُ.
