The new crescent of the month of Jumada Al Thani, 1447 H (central conjunction) will be born on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 06:47 a.m. Universal Time, corresponding to 08:47 a.m. Beirut winter time.
As shown in the above-mentioned image, sighting the crescent on Thursday evening (the night of Friday) is possible with the naked eye, provided the sky is clear and the observer is experienced, as in the southern part of South America, and with the armed eye (such as telescopes) as in most regions of South America.
Therefore, Friday, November 21, 2025, will be the first day of the month of Jumada Al Thani, 1447 H, for regions that share part of the night with the regions where sighting is possible. Saturday, November 22, 2025, will be the first day for regions that do not share part of the night with them.
This is based on the jurisprudential opinion of the late Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlallah (ra), who held that the month begins if the crescent can be sighted in any location in the world, provided we share part of the night with it, regardless of whether the sighting is with the naked eye or with armed devices (such as telescopes).
On Friday evening (the night of Saturday), the crescent can be sighted with the naked eye in most regions of the world.
