Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the agitation of craving, the violence of wrath, the domination of envy, the frailty of patience, the lack of contentment, the surliness of character, the urgency of passion, the disposition to vehemence,
al-laahum-ma in-neee au'wd'u bika min- hayaajaanil-h'irs' wa saw-ratil-ghaz'ab wa ghalabatil-h'asad wa z'aa'-fis'-s'abr wa qil-latil-qanaa'h wa shakaasatil-khuluq wa il-h'aah'ish-shah-wah wa malakatil-h'amee-yah
اَللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَيَجَـانِ الْحِرْصِ، وَسَوْرَةِ الغَضَبِ وَغَلَبَةِ الْحَسَدِ وضَعْفِ الضَّبْرِ وَقِلَّةِ الْقَنَاعَةِ وَشَكَاسَةِ الْخُلُقِ، وَإلْحَاحِ الشَّهْوَةِ، وَمَلَكَةِ الْحَمِيَّةِ،
following caprice, opposing guidance, the sleep of heedlessness, undertaking the toilsome, preferring falsehood over truth, persisting in sin, underestimating the implications of committing sins in disobedience, overestimating the worth of acts of obedience, vying with the wealthy,
wa mutaabaa'til-hawaa wa mukhaalfatil-hudaa wa sinatil-ghaflah wa taa'at'eel-kulfah wa eethaaril-baat'ili a'laal-h'aq wal-is'-raari a'laal-maa-tham was-tis'-ghaaril-maa'-s'eeah was-tik-baarit'-t'aaa'h wa mubaahaatil-muk-thireen
وَمُتَابَعَةِ الْهَوَى، وَمُخَالَفَةِ الْهُدَى، وَسِنَةِ الْغَفْلَةِ، وَتَعَاطِي الْكُلْفَةِ، وَإيْثَارِ الْبَاطِلِ عَلَى الْحَقِّ وَالاصْرَارِ عَلَى الْمَـأثَمِ، وَاسْتِصْغَـارِ الْمَعْصِيَـةِ، وَاسْتِكْثَارِ الظَّاعَةِ، وَمُبَاهَاةِ الْمُكْثِرِينَ،
disparaging the poor, being a bad guardian over those we are responsible of, failing to thank those who have done good to us, aiding a wrongdoer, abandoning someone troubled, wanting what is not rightfully ours, talking knowledgeably about what we are ignorant of.
wal-iz-raaa-i bil-muqil-leen wa sooo-il-wilaayati liman tah'-ta ay-deenaa wa tar-kish-shuk-ri limanis'-t'anaal-a'arifata i'ndanaa aw an-naa'-z'uda z'aalimaa aw nakh-d'ula mal-hoofaa aw narooma maa lay-sa lanaa bih'aq aw naqoola fil-i'l-mi bighay-ri i'l-m
وَالازْرآءِ بِالْمُقِلِّينَ، وَسُوءِ الْوِلاَيَةِ لِمَنْ تَحْتَ أَيْدِينَا وَتَرْكِ الشُّكْرِ لِمَنِ اصْطَنَعَ الْعَارِفَةَ عِنْدَنَا، أَوْ أَنْ نَعْضُدَ ظَالِماً، أَوْ نَخْذُلَ مَلْهُوفاً، أَوْ نَرُومَ مَا لَيْسَ لَنَا بِحَتقٍّ نُعْجَبَ، أَوْ نَقُولَ فِي الْعِلْمِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْم.
We seek refuge in You from harboring dishonesty towards anyone, being [arrogantly] pleased with our works, and stretching out our expectations far [beyond reality].
wa nau'wd'u bik an-nant'aweeka a'laa ghish-shi ah'ad wa an-nua'jiba bia'-maalinaa wa namud-da feee aaamaalinaa
وَنَعُـوذُ بِـكَ أَنْ نَنْطَوِيَ عَلَى غِشِّ أَحَد، وَأَنْ نُعْجَبَ بِأَعْمَالِنَا، وَنَمُدَّ فِي امَالِنَا،
We seek refuge in You from ill-mindedness, looking down on the small, Satan gaining mastery over us, the afflictions of time, and the oppression of the sovereign.
wa nau'wd'u bika min sooo-is-sareerah wa ah'-tiqaaris'-s'agheerah wa ay-yas-tah'-wid'a a'lay-naash-shay-t'aan aw yankubanaaz-zamaan aw yatahaz'-z'amunaas-sul-t'aan
وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ سُوءِ السَّرِيرَةِ، وَاحْتِقَارِ الصَّغِيرَةِ، وَأَنْ يَسْتَحْوِذَ عَلَيْنَا الشَّيْطَانُ، أَوْ يَنْكُبَنَـا الزَّمَانُ، أَوْ يَتَهَضَّمَنَا، السُّلْطَانُ.
We seek refuge in You from acting with prodigality and not having sufficiency.
wa nau'wd'u bik min tanawulil-is-raaf wa min fiq-daanil-kafaaf
وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ تَنَاوُلِ الاِسْرَافِ، وَمِنْ فِقْدَانِ الْكَفَـافِ.
We seek refuge in You from the gloating of enemies, indigent need for equals, living in hardship, and dying without readiness.
wa nau'wd'u bika min shamaatatil-aa'-daaa-i wa minal-faq-ri ilaql-ak-faaa-i wa mim-mae'eshatin fee shiddah wa meetatin a'laa ghay-ri u'd-dah
وَنَعُوذُ بِـكَ مِنْ شَمَاتَةِ الاَعْدَاءِ وَمِنَ الْفَقْرِ إلَى الاَكْفَاءِ وَمِنْ مَعِيشَة فِي شِدَّة وَمَيْتَة عَلَى غَيْـرِ عُدَّة.
We seek refuge in You from the most dreadful remorse, the greatest affliction, the most wretched wretchedness, the evil end to the journey, the deprivation of reward, and the advent of punishment.
wa nau'wd'u bika minal-h'as-ratil-u'z'-maa wal-mus'eebatil-kub-raa wa ash-qaash-shaqaaa-i wa sooo-il-maaab wa h'irmaanith-thawaab wa h'uloolil-i'qaab
وَنَعُـوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْحَسْرَةِ الْعُظْمى، وَالْمُصِيبَةِ الْكُبْرَى، وَأَشْقَى الشَّقَآءِ وَسُوءِ المئآبِ، وَحِرْمَانِ الثَّوَابِ، وَحُلُولِ الْعِقَابِ.
O Allah, bless Muhammad and his Household, and through Your mercy, grant me refuge from all of that, and to all the faithful, both men and women! O Most Merciful of the merciful!
al-laahum-ma s'al-li a'laa muh'ammadiw-wa aaalih wa ai'd'-nee min kul-li d'alika birah-matika? wa jameeal-moo-meena wal-moo-minaat yaaa ar-h'amar-raah'imeen
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ، وَأَعِذْنِي مِنْ كُلِّ ذَلِكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَجَمِيـعَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.
