بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
O Allah, O You who extended the morning's tongue in the speech of its dawning, dispatched the fragments of the dark night into the gloom of its stammering, made firm the structure of the turning spheres in the measures of its display and beamed forth the brightness of the sun through the light of its blazing! O You, who demonstrates Your Essence by Your Essence, transcends congeniality with Your creatures and is exalted beyond conformity with Your qualities! O You who is near to the passing thoughts of opinions, far from the regards of eyes and knows what will be before it comes to be! O You, who has put me at ease in the cradle of Your security and sanctuary, awakened me to the favors and kindness that You have bestowed upon me and held back the claws of evil with Your hand and Your force! Bless, O Allah, the guide to You in the darkest night, him who, of Your ropes, clings to the cord of the longest nobility, him whose glory is evident at the summit of stout shoulders and whose feet were entrenched in spite of slippery places in ancient time; and [bless] his household, the good, the chosen, the pious,
Allahumma ya man dala'a lisana al-sabahi bi-nutqi taballujihi, wa sarraha qita'a al-layli al-muzlimi bi-ghayahibi talaljujihi, wa atqana sun'a al-falaki al-dawwari fi maqadiri tabarrujihi, wa sha'sha'a dia'a al-shamsi bi-nuri ta'jujihi, ya man dalla 'ala dhatihi bi-dhatihi, wa tanazzaha 'an mujanasati makhlukatihi, wa jalla 'an mulaimati kayfiyatihi. Ya man qaruba min khatarati al-zununi, wa ba'uda 'an lahazati al-'uyuni, wa 'alima bima kana qabla an yakuna, ya man araqadani fi mihadi amniHI wa amanihi, wa ayqazani ila ma manahani bihi min minanihi wa ihsanihi, wa kaffa akuffa al-su'i 'anni bi-yadihi wa sultanihi. Salli allahumma 'ala al-dalili ilayka fi al-layli al-alili, wa al-masiki min asbabika bi-habli al-sharafi al-atwali, wa al-nasi'i al-hasabi fi dhirwati al-kahili al-a'bali, wa al-thabiti al-qadami 'ala zahalifiha fi al-zamani al-awwali wa 'ala alihi al-akhyari al-mustafayna al-abrari.
اللهُمَّ يا مَن دَلَعَ لِسانَ الصَّباحِ بِنُطقِ تَبَلُّجهِ، وَسَرَّحَ قِطَعَ اللَّيلِ المُظلِمِ بِغَياهِبِ تَلَجلُجِهِ، وَأتقَنَ صُنعَ الفَلَكِ الدَّوّارِ في مَقاديرِ تَبَرُّجِهِ، وَشَعشَعَ ضياءَ الشَّمسِ بِنورِ تَأجُّجِهِ، يا مَن دَلَّ عَلى ذاتِهِ بِذاتِهِ، وَتَنَزَّهَ عَن مُجانَسَةِ مَخلوقاتِهِ، وَجَلَّ عَن مُلائَمَةِ كَيفياتِهِ. يا مَن قَرُبَ مِن خَطَراتِ الظُّنونِ، وَبَعُدَ عَن لَحَظاتِ العُيونِ، وَعَلِمَ بِما كانَ قَبلَ أن يَكونَ، يا مَن أرقَدَني في مِهادِ أمنِهِ وَأمانِهِ، وَأيقَظَني إلى ما مَنَحَني بِهِ مِن مِنَنِهِ وَإحسانِهِ، وَكَفَّ أكُفَّ السّوءِ عَنّي بيَدِهِ وَسُلطانِهِ، صَلِّ اللهُمَّ عَلى الدَّليلِ إلَيكَ في اللَّيلِ الأليَلِ، وَالماسِكِ مِن أسبابِكَ بِحَبلِ الشَّرَفِ الأطوَلِ، والنَّاصِعِ الحَسَبِ في ذِروَةِ الكاهِلِ الأعبَلِ، وَالثَّابِتِ القَدَمِ عَلى زَحاليفِها في الزَّمَنِ الأوَّلِ وَعَلى آلِهِ الأخيارِ المُصطَفَينَ الأبرارِ
And open for us, O Allah, the leaves of morning's door with the keys of mercy and prosperity! Clothe me, O Allah, with the most excellent robes of guidance and righteousness! Plant, O Allah, through Your tremendousness, the springs of humility in the watering place of my heart! Cause to flow, O Allah, because of Your awesomeness, tears of moaning from the corner of my eyes! And chastise, O Allah, the recklessness of my clumsiness with the reins of contentment! My Allah, if mercy from You does not begin with fair success for me, then who can take me to You upon the evident path? If Your deliberateness would turn me over to the guide of hope and wishes, then who will annul my slips from the stumbles of caprice? If Your help should forsake me in the battle with the soul and Satan, then Your forsaking will have entrusted me to where there is hardship and deprivation.
Wa iftahi allahumma lana masari'a al-sabahi bi-mafatihi al-rahmati wa al-falahi, wa albisni allahumma min afdali khila'i al-hidayati wa al-salahi. Wa aghris allahumma bi-'azamatika fi shirbi janani yanabi'a al-khushu'i, wa ajri allahumma li-hibatika min amaqi zafaratI al-dumu'i, wa addib allahumma nazaqa al-khurqi minni bi-azimmati al-qunu'i. Ilahi in lam tabtadi'ni al-rahmatu minka bi-husni al-tawfiqi fa-mani al-saliku bi ilayka fi wadihi al-tariqi wa in aslamatni anatuka li-qa'idi al-amali wa al-munna fa-mani al-muqilu 'atharati min kabawati al-hawa. Wa in khadhalani nasruka 'inda muharabati al-nafsi wa al-shaytani, fa-qad wakalani khidhlanuka ila haythu al-nasabi wa al-hirmani.
وَافتَحِ اللهُمَّ لَنا مَصاريعَ الصَّباحِ بِمَفاتيحِ الرَّحمَةِ وَالفَلاحِ، وَألبِسني اللهُمَّ مِن أفضَلِ خِلَعِ الهِدايَةِ وَالصَّلاحِ، وَأغرِسِ اللهُمَّ بِعَظَمَتِكَ في شِربِ جَناني يَنابيعَ الخُشوعِ، وَأجرِ اللهُمَّ لِهَيبَتِكَ مِن آماقي زَفَراتِ الدُّموعِ، وَأدِّبِ اللهُمَّ نَزَقَ الخُرقِ مِنّي بِأزِمَّةِ القُنوعِ، إلهي إن لَم تَبتَدِئني الرَّحمَةُ مِنكَ بِحُسنِ التَّوفيقِ فَمَنِ السَّالِكُ بي إلَيكَ في وَاضِحِ الطَّريقِ وَإن أسلَمَتني أناتُكَ لِقائِدِ الامَلِ وَالمُنى فَمَنِ المُقيلُ عَثَراتي مِن كَبَواتِ الهَوى وَإن خَذَلَني نَصرُكَ عِندَ مُحارَبَةِ النَّفسِ وَالشَّيطانِ، فَقَد وَكَلَني خِذلانُكَ إلى حَيثُ النَّصَبِ وَالحِرمانِ
O Allah, do You see that I have only come to You from the direction of hopes or clung to the ends of Your cords when my sins have driven me from the house of union? So what an evil mount upon which my soul has mounted - its caprice! Woe upon it for being seduced by its own opinions and wishes! And destruction is upon it for its audacity toward its Master and Protector! My Allah, I have knocked upon the door of Your mercy with the hand of my hope, fled to You seeking refuge from my excessive caprice and fixed the fingers of my love to the ends of Your cords. So pardon, O Allah, the slips and errors I have committed and release me from the foot-tangling of my robe. For You are my Master, my Protector, my Support and my Hope and You are the object of my search and my desire in my ultimate end and stable abode.
Ilahi a-taranI ma ataytuka illa min haythu al-amali aw 'aliqtu bi-atrafi hibalika illa hina ba'adatni dhunubi 'an dari al-wisali. Fa-bi'sa al-matiyyatu allati imtatat nafsi min hawaHA, fa-wahan laha lima sawwalat laha zununuHA wa munaHA wa tabban laha li-jur'atiha 'ala sayyidiha wa mawlaHA. Ilahi qara'tu baba rahmatika bi-yadi raja'i, wa harabtu ilayka liijan min fitrati ahwa'i, wa 'allaqtu bi-atrafi hibalika anamila wala'i. Fafsah allahumma 'amma kuntu ajramtuhu min zallati wa khata'i, wa aqilni min sar'ati rid'a'i, fa-innaka sayyidi wa mawlaYA wa mu'tamadi wa raja'i, wa anta ghayatu matlubi wa munaya fi munqalabi wa mathwaYA.
إلهي أتَراني ما أتَيتُكَ إلاّ مِن حَيثُ الآمالِ، أم عَلِقتُ بَأطرافِ حِبالِكَ إلاّ حينَ باعَدَتني ذُنوبي عَن دارِ الوِصالِ، فَبِئسَ المَطيَّةُ الَّتي امتَطَت نَفسي مِن هَواها، فَواهاً لَها لِما سَوَّلَت لَها ظُنونُها وَمُناها وَتَبَّاً لَها لِجُرأتِها عَلى سَيِّدِها وَمَولاها إلهي قَرَعتُ بابَ رَحمَتِكَ بيَدِ رَجائي، وَهَرَبتُ إلَيكَ لاجِئاً مِن فَرطِ أهوائي، وَعَلَّقتُ بِأطرافِ حِبالِكَ أنامِلَ وَلائي، فَاصفَحِ اللهُمَّ عمَّا كُنتُ أجرَمتُهُ مِن زَلَلي وَخَطائي، وَأقِلني مِن صَرعَةِ رِدائي، فإنَّكَ سَيِّدي وَمَولاي وَمُعتَمَدي وَرَجائي، وَأنتَ غايَةُ مَطلوبي، وَمُنايَ في مُنقَلَبي وَمَثوايَ
O Allah, how can You drive away a poor beggar who seeks refuge in You from sins, fleeing? Or how can You disappoint one seeking guidance who repairs to Your threshold, running? Never! For Your pools are full in the hardship of drought, Your door is open for seeking and penetration and You are the goal of requests and the object of hopes. My Allah, these are the reins of my soul I have bound them with the ties of Your will. These are the burdens of my sins I have averted them with Your pardon and mercy. And these are my caprices that led astray - I have entrusted them to the threshold of Your gentleness and kindliness. So make this morning of mine, O Allah, descend upon me with the radiance of guidance, and with safety in religion and this world! And [make] my evening a shield against the deception of enemies and a protection against the destructive blows of caprice! Verily You are able over what You will! You gives the kingdom to whom You will, and You seizes the kingdom from whom You will; You exalts whom You will, and You abases whom You will; in Your hand is the good; You are powerful over all things. You makes the night to enter into the day, and You makes the day to enter into the night; You brings forth the living from the dead, and You brings forth dead from the living; and You provides whomsoever You will without reckoning. There is no god but You! Glory is to You, O Allah, and Thine is the praise! Who knows Your measure without fearing You? Who knows what You are without awe of You?
Ilahi kayfa tatrudu miskinan iltaja ilayka min al-dhunub hariban am kayfa tukhayyibu mustarshidan qasada ila janabika sa'iyan am kayfa taruddu zama'an warada ila hiyaDika shariban kalla, wa hiyaDuka mutra'atun fi dankI al-muhawili, wa babuka maftuhun lil-talabi wa al-wughuli, wa anta ghayatu al-mas'uli wa nihayatu al-ma'muli. Ilahi hadhihi azimmatu nafsi 'aqaltuha bi-'iqali mashiyatika, wa hadhihi a'ba'u dhunubi dara'tuha bi-'afwika wa rahmatika, wa hadhihi ahwa'iya al-mudillata wakaltuha ila janabi lutfika wa ra'fatika. Faj'al allahumma sabahi hadha nazilan 'alayya biDiya'i al-huda wa bi-al-salamati fi al-dini wa al-dunya, wa masa'i junnatan min kaydi al-'ada wa wiQayatan min murdiyati al-hawa. Innaka qadirun 'ala ma tasha'u tu'ti al-mulka man tasha'u, wa tanzi'u al-mulka mimman tasha'u, wa tu'izzu man tasha'u wa tudhillu man tasha'u, bi-yadika al-khayru innaka 'ala kulli shay'in qadirun. Tuliju al-layla fi al-nahari, wa tuliju al-nahara fi al-layli, wa tukhriju al-hayya min al-mayyiti, wa tukhriju al-mayyita min al-hayyi, wa tarzuqu man tasha'u bi-ghayri hisabin. La ilaha illa anta, subhanaka allahumma wa bi-hamdika, man dha ya'rifu qadraka fala yakhafuka, wa man dha ya'lamu ma anta fala yahabuka.
إلهي كَيفَ تَطرُدُ مِسكيناً التَجأ إلَيكَ مِنَ الذُّنوب ِهارِباً أم كَيفَ تُخَيِّبُ مُستَرشِداً قَصَدَ إلى جَنابِكَ ساعياً أم كَيفَ تَرُدُّ ظَمآناً وَرَدَ إلى حياضِكَ شارِباً كَلّا، وَحياضُكَ مُترَعَةٌ في ضَنكِ المُحوُلِ، وَبابُكَ مَفتوحٌ لِلطَّلَبِ وَالوُغولِ، وَأنتَ غايَةُ المَسؤولِ ونِهايَةُ المَأمولِ إلهي هذِهِ أزِمَّةُ نَفسي عَقَلتُها بِعِقالِ مَشيَّتِكَ، وَهذِهِ أعباء ذُنوبي دَرَأتُها بِعَفوِكَ وَرَحمَتِكَ، وَهذِهِ أهوائي المُضِلَّةُ وَكَلتُها إلى جَنابِ لُطفِكَ وَرَأفَتِكَ فَاجعَلِ اللهُمَّ صَباحي هذا نازِلاً عَلَيَّ بِضياءِ الهُدى وَبِالسَّلامَةِ في الدّينِ وَالدُّنيا، وَمَسائي جُنَّةً مِن كَيدِ العِدى وَوِقايَةً مِن مُردياتِ الهَوى، إنَّكَ قادِرٌ عَلى ما تَشاءُ تُؤتي المُلكَ مَن تَشاءُ، وَتَنزِعُ المُلكَ مِمَّن تَشاءُ، وَتُعِزُّ مَن تَشاءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَن تَشاءُ، بيَدِكَ الخَيرُ إنَّكَ عَلى كُلِّ شيءٍ قَديرٌ، تولِجُ اللَّيلَ في النَّهارِ، وَتولِجُ النَّهارَ في اللَّيلِ، وَتُخرِجُ الحَيَّ مِنَ المَيِّتِ، وَتُخرِجُ المَيِّتَ مِنَ الحَيِّ، وَتَرزُقُ مَن تَشاءُ بِغَيرِ حِسابٍ، لا إلهَ إلاّ أنتَ، سُبحانَكَ اللهُمَّ وَبِحَمدِكَ، مَن ذا يَعرِفُ قَدرَكَ فَلا يَخافُكَ، وَمَن ذا يَعلَمُ ما أنتَ فَلا يَهابُكَ
Through Your power You have joined disparate things, through Your gentleness You have cleaved apart the daybreak and through Your generosity You have illumined the dark shrouds of night. You have made waters, sweet and salt, flow forth from hard shining stones, sent down out of rain-clouds water cascading and appointed the sun and moon a blazing lamp for the creatures, without experiencing in that which You originated either weariness or effort. So, O He who is alone in might and subsistence and dominates His slaves with death and annihilation, Bless Muhammad and his household, the god-fearing, answer my supplication hear my call, destroy my enemies and actualize through Thy bounty my hope and desire. O best of those who is called to remove affliction and object of hope in every difficulty and ease! I have stated my need, so do not reject me, O my master, despairing of Thy exalted gifts. O All-generous! O All-generous! O All-generous! By Thy mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful! And Allah bless the best of His creatures, Muhammad, and his entire household!
Allafta bi-qudratika al-firaqa, wa falaqta bi-lutfika al-falaqa, wa anarta bi-karamika diyaja al-ghasaqi, wa anhartA al-miaha min al-summi al-siyakhidi 'adhan wa ujajan, wa anzalta min al-mu'sirati ma'an thajjajan, wa ja'altA al-shamsa wa al-qamara lil-bariyyati sirajan wahhajan, min ghayri an tumarisa fi-ma ibtada'ta bihi lughuban wa la 'ilajan. Faya man tawahhada bi-al-'izzi wa al-baqa'i, wa qahara 'ibadahu bi-al-mawti wa al-fana'i, salli 'ala muhammadin wa alihi al-atqiya'i, wa isma' nida'i, wa astajib du'a'i, wa haqqiq bi-faDlika amali wa raja'i, ya khayra man du'iya li-kashfi al-duri, wa al-ma'muli likulli 'usrin wa yusrin, bika anzaltu hajati fala turuddani min saniyi mawahibika kha'iban, ya karimu ya karimu ya karimu, bi-rahmatika ya arhama al-rahimina, wa salla allahu 'ala khayri khalqihi muhammadin wa alihi ajma'ina.
ألَّفتَ بِقُدرَتِكَ الفِرَقَ، وَفَلَقتَ بِلُطفِكَ الفَلَقَ، وَأنَرتَ بِكَرَمِكَ دياجيَ الغَسَقِ، وَأنهَرتَ المياهَ مِنَ الصُّمِّ الصياخيدِ عَذباً وَاُجاجاً، وَأنزَلتَ مِنَ المُعصِراتِ ماءً ثَجَّاجاً، وَجَعَلتَ الشَّمسَ وَالقَمَرَ لِلبَريَّةِ سِراجاً وَهّاجاً، مِن غَيرِ أن تُمارِسَ فيما ابتَدَأتَ بِهِ لُغوباً وَلا عِلاجاً، فيامَن تَوَحَّدَ بِالعِزِّ وَالبَقاءِ، وَقَهَرَ عِبادَهُ بِالمَوتِ وَالفَناءِ، صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ الأتقياءِ، وَاسمَع نِدائي، وَاستَجِب دُعائي، وَحَقِّق بِفَضلِكَ أمَلي وَرَجائي، يا خَيرَ مَن دُعيَ لِكَشفِ الضُّرِ، وَالمَأمولِ لكلّ عُسرٍ وَيُسرٍ، بِكَ أنزَلتُ حاجَتي فَلا تَرُدَّني مِن سَنيِّ مَواهِبِكَ خائِباً، يا كَريمُ يا كَريمُ يا كَريمُ، بِرَحمَتِكَ يا أرحَمَ الرّاحِمينَ، وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلى خَيرِ خَلقِهِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ أجمَعينَ
Then prostrate and say:
Thumma usjud wa qul:
ثمّ اسجد وقل
O Allah, my heart is veiled, my soul is defective, my reason is overcome, my caprice is dominant, my obedience is little, my disobedience is much, and my tongue confesses to the sins, so what is my resource, O Veiler of faults, O Knower of what is hidden, O Remover of afflictions? Forgive all my sins by the sanctity of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, O All-Forgiving, O All-Forgiving, O All-Forgiving, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful!
Ilahi qalbi mahjubun, wa nafsi ma'qubun, wa 'aqli maghlubun, wa hawA'i ghalibun, wa ta'ati qalilun, wa ma'siyati kathirun, wa lisani muqirrun bi-al-dhunubi, fa-kayfa hayilati ya sattara al-'uyubi, wa ya 'allama al-ghuyubi, wa ya kashifa al-kurubi, ighfir dhunubi kullaha bi-hurmati muhammadin wa ali muhammadin, ya ghaffaru ya ghaffaru ya ghaffaru, bi-rahmatika ya arhama al-rahimina.
إلهي قَلبي مَحجوبٌ، وَنَفسي مَعيوبٌ، وَعَقلي مَغلوبٌ، وَهوَائي غالِبٌ، وَطاعَتي قَليلٌ، وَمَعصيَتي كَثيرٌ، وَلِساني مُقِرُّ بِالذُّنوبِ، فَكَيفَ حيلَتي يا سَتَّارَ العُيوبِ، وَ يا عَلامَ الغُيوبِ، وَ يا كاشِفَ الكُروبِ، اغفِر ذُنوبي كُلَّها بِحُرمَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، يا غَفّارُ يا غَفّارُ يا غَفّارُ، بِرَحمَتِكَ يا أرحَمَ الرّاحِمينَ
