Imam Zein Al-Abideen's supplication for himself and the people under his guardianship
Wa kaana min du'aa-ihee 'alay-his-salaamu linaf-sihee w liah-li walaayatih.
دُعَائِهِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ لِنَفْسِهِ و لِأَهْلِ وَلَايَتِهِ
O He the wonders of Whose mightiness will never end! Bless Muhammad and his Household, and prevent us from rejecting Your mightiness! O He the term of Whose kingdom will never cease! Bless Muhammad and his Household, and release our necks from Your vengeance! O He the treasuries of Whose mercy will never be exhausted! Bless Muhammad and his Household, and grant us a portion of Your mercy! O He Whom eyes fall short of seeing! Bless Muhammad and his Household, and bring us close to You! O He before Whose greatness all great things are small! Bless Muhammad and his Household, and give us honor from You! O He to Whom all hidden tidings are manifest! Bless Muhammad and his Household, and expose us not before You!
Yaa mal-laa tanqaz''ee 'ajaa-ibu 'az'amatih, s'al-li 'alaa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih, wa ah'-jub-naa 'an-il-il-h'aadi fee 'az'amatik. Wa yaa mal-laa tantahee mud-datu mul-kih, s'al-li 'alaa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih, wa aa'-tiq riqaabanaa min-naqimatik. Wa yaa mal-laa taf-naa khazaa-inu rah'-matih, s'al-li 'alaa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih, waj-a'l-lanaa nas'eebaa fee rah'matik. Wa yaa man tanqat'iu' doona roo-yatihil-ab-s'aar, s'al-li 'alaa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih, wa ad-ninaaa ilaa qurbik. Wa yaa man tas'-ghuru 'inda khat'arihil-akh-t'aar, s'al-li 'alaa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih wa kar-rim-naa 'alay-k. Wa yaa man taz'-haru 'indahoo bawaat'inul-akh-baar, s'al-li 'alaa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalihee wa laa taf-z''ah'-naa laday-k.
يَا مَنْ لَا تَنْقَضِي عَجَائِبُ عَظَمَتِهِ، صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ، وَاحْجُبْنَا عَنِ الْإلْحَادِ فِي عَظَمَتِكَ. وَيَا مَنْ لَا تَنْتَهِي مُدَّةُ مُلْكِهِ، صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ، وَأَعْتِقْ رِقَابَنَا مِنْ نَقِمَتِكَ. وَيَا مَنْ لَا تَفْنَى خَزَائِنُ رَحْمَتِهِ، صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ، وَاجْعَلْ لَنَا نَصِيباً فِي رَحْمَتِكَ. وَيَا مَنْ تَنْقَطِعُ دُونَ رُؤْيَتِهِ الْأَبْصَارُ، صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ، وَأَدْنِنَا إِلَى قُرْبِكَ. وَيَا مَنْ تَصْغُرُ عِنْدَ خَطَرِهِ الْأَخْطَارُ، صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ وَكَرِّمْنَا عَلَيْكَ. وَيَا مَنْ تَظْهَرُ عِنْدَهُ بَوَاطِنُ الْأَخْبَارِ، صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ وَلَا تَفْضَحْنَا لَدَيْكَ.
O God, Enable us to do without the gifts of the givers through Your gift, Spare us the loneliness of those who break off, through Your joining, that we may beseech no one along with Your free giving, that we may feel lonely at no one's absence along with Your bounty!
Al-laahum-ma agh-ninaa 'an hibatil-wah-haabeena bihibatik, wa ak-finaa wah'-shatal-qaat'ie'ena bis'ilatik, h'at-taa laa nar-ghaba ilaaa ah'adim-maa' bad'-lik wa laa nas-taw-h'isha min ah'adim-maa' fz''-lik.
اللَّهُمَّ أَغْنِنَا عَنْ هِبَةِ الْوَهَّابِيْنَ بِهِبَتِكَ، وَاكْفِنَا وَحْشَةَ الْقَاطِعِينَ بِصِلَتِكَ، حَتَّى لَا نَرْغَبَ إِلَى أَحَدٍ مَعَ بَذْلِكَ، وَلَا نَسْتَوْحِشَ مِنْ أَحَدٍ مَعَ فَضْلِكَ.
O God, Bless Muhammad and his Household, Scheme for us, not against us, Plot in our favor, not against it, Give the turn to prevail to us, not to others!
Al-laahum-ma fas'al-li 'alaa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih, wa kid lanaa wa laa takid 'alay-naa, wa am-kur lanaa wa laa tam-kur binaa, wa adil-lanaa wa laa tudil min-naa.
اللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ وَكِدْ لَنَا وَلَا تَكِدْ عَلَيْنَا، وَامْكُرْ لَنَا وَلَا تَمْكُرْ بِنَا، وَأَدِلْ لَنَا وَلَا تُدِلْ مِنَّا.
O God, Bless Muhammad and his Household, Protect us from Your wrath, Safeguard us through Yourself, Guide us to Yourself, and take us not far from Yourself! he whom You protect stays safe, he whom You guide knows, and he whom You bring near Yourself takes the spoils.
Al-laahum-ma s'al-li 'alaa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih, wa qinaa mink, wa ah'-faz'-naa bik, wa ah-dinaaa ilay-k, wa laa tubaa'id-naa 'ank, in-na man taqihee yas-lam, wa man tah-dihee yaa'-lam, wa man tuqar-rib-hooo ilay-ka yagh-nam.
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ، وَقِنَا مِنْكَ، وَاحْفَظْنَا بِكَ، وَاهْدِنَا إِلَيْكَ، وَلَا تُبَاعِدْنَا عَنْكَ إِنَّ مَنْ تَقِهِ يَسْلَمْ، وَمَنْ تَهْدِهِ يَعْلَمْ، وَمَنْ تُقَرِّبُهُ إِلَيْكَ يَغْنَمْ.
O God, bless Muhammad and his Household, and spare us the misfortunes of time, the evil of Satan's snares, and the bitterness of the ruler's aggression!
Al-laahum-ma s'al-li 'alaa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih, wa ak-finaa h'ad-da nawaaa-ibiz-zamaan wa shar-ra mas'aaa-idish-shay-t'aan wa maraarata s'aw-latis-sul-t'aan.
اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ وَاكْفِنَا حَدَّ نَوَائِبِ الزَّمَانِ، وَشَرَّ مَصَائِدِ الشَّيْطَانِ وَمَرَارَةَ صَوْلَةِ السُّلْطَانِ.
O God, The spared are spared only through the bounty of Your strength, So bless Muhammad and his Household, and spare us! The givers give only through the bounty of Your wealth, so bless Muhammad and his Household, and give to us! The guided are guided only by the light of Your face, so bless Muhammad and his Household, and guide us!
Al-laahum-ma in-namaa yak-tafeel-muk-tafoona bifaz''-li qoo-watik, fas'al-li 'alaa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalihee wak-finaa wa in-namaa yua'-t'eel-mua'-t'oona min faz''-li jidatik, fas'al-li 'alaa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalihee wa aa'-t'inaa wa in-namaa yah-tadeel-muh-tadoona binoori waj-hik, fas'al-li 'alaa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalihee wah-dinaa.
اللّهُمَّ إِنَّمَا يَكْتَفِي الْمُكْتَفُونَ بِفَضْلِ قُوَّتِكَ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ، وَاكْفِنَا وَإِنَّمَا يُعْطِي الْمُعْطُونَ مِنْ فَضْلِ جِدَتِكَ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ وَأَعْطِنَا، وَإِنَّمَا يَهْتَدِي الْمُهْتَدُونَ بِنُورِ وَجْهِكَ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ وَاهْدِنَا.
O God, He whom You be friend will not be injured by the abandonment of the abandoners, he to whom You give will not be diminished by the withholding of the withholders, he whom You guide will not be misled by the misguidance of the misguides. So bless Muhammad and his Household, Defend us from Your servants, through Your might, Free us from the need for other than You, through Your support, and make us travel the path of the truth, through Your right guidance!
Al-laahum-ma in-nak man waw-waalay-ta lam yaz''rur-hoo khid'-laanul-khaad'ileen, wa man aa'-t'ay-ta lam yanqus'-hoo man-'ul-maanie'en, wa man haday-ta lam yugh-wiheee iz''laalul-muz''illeen, fas'al-li 'alaa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih, wa am-naa'-naa bii'z-zika min 'ibaadik, wa agh-ninaa 'an ghay-rika bir-faadik, was-luk binaa sabeelal-h'aq-qi biir-shaadik.
اللّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ مَنْ وَالَيْتَ لَمْ يَضْرُرْهُ خِذْلَانُ الْخَاذِلِينَ، وَمَنْ أَعْطَيْتَ لَمْ يَنْقُصْهُ مَنْعُ الْمَانِعِينَ، وَمَنْ هَدَيْتَ لَمْ يُغْوِهِ إِضْلَالُ الْمُضِلِّيْنَ. فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ، وَامْنَعْنَا بِعِزَّكَ، مِنْ عِبَادِكَ وَأَغْنِنَا عَنْ غَيْرِكَ بِإِرْفَادِكَ وَاسْلُكْ بِنَا سَبِيلَ الْحَقِّ بِـإِرْشَادِكَ.
O God, Bless Muhammad and his Household, And put the soundness of our hearts into the remembrance of Your mightiness, The idleness of our bodies into giving thanks for Your favor, and the flow of our words into the description of Your kindness!
Al-laahum-ma s'al-li 'alaa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih waj-a'l salaamata quloobinaa fee d'ik-ri 'az'amatik, wa faraagha ab-daaninaa fee shuk-ri nia'-matik, want'ilaaqa al-sinatinaa fee was'-fi min-natik.
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ وَاجْعَلْ سَلَامَةَ قُلُوبِنَا فِي ذِكْرِ عَظَمَتِكَ وَفَرَاغَ أَبْدَانِنَا فِي شُكْرِ نِعْمَتِكَ وَانْطِلَاقَ أَلْسِنَتِنَا فِي وَصْفِ مِنَّتِكَ.
O God, Bless Muhammad and his Household, and make us one of Your summoners who summon to You, Your guiders who direct to You, and Your special followers whom You have singled out! O Most Merciful of the merciful!
Al-laahum-ma s'al-li 'alaa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih waj-a'l-naa min dua'atikad-daa'eena ilay-k, wa hudaatikad-daaall-leena 'alay-k, wa min khaaas'-s'atikal-khaaas'-s'eena laday-k. Yaaa ar-h'amar-raah'imeen.
أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ وَاجْعَلْنَا مِنْ دُعَاتِكَ الدَّاعِينَ إِلَيْكَ وَهُدَاتِكَ الدَّالِّينَ عَلَيْكَ وَمِنْ خَاصَّتِكَ الْخَاصِّينَ لَدَيْكَ. يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.
